Speaking about ‘No Mía‘, the foundation of the track is centered on Latin tech house, with subtle hints of JOYRYDE bass house and gritty UK house influences. You’ll notice a constant flow of call and response between the percussive and bass elements throughout the drop, which truly drives the underlying groove.
Growing up I played in a variety of ensembles (jazz band, orchestra, etc.) and I always incorporate my prior experience with the music I release today. I remember when writing this track, I had my mom grab her saxophone and I picked up my trombone, and we backed the pre-drop trumpet. Something subtle like that can add a lot of depth, and keeps things fun while creating.
