Wax Motif, a stalwart of house music, collaborates with UK rising artist 220 KID on their new track, ‘Seeing Color,’ a vintage sensibility that is the newest offering from the Insomniac Records catalog.

Wax Motif, an Australian producer residing in Los Angeles, collaborates with 220 KID, one of London’s hottest rising stars, on his much anticipated Insomniac imprint debut. Their new single ‘Seeing Color,’ which draws inspiration from the heyday of deep house, ought to put a twinkle in the eyes of house fans who enjoy a classic rhythm. The song, which is supported by a vogue-inspired topline, comes through with every soulful syllable as it alternates between captivating spoken word sections and an appealing vocal belt. The combination of bouncing piano chords, hissing hats, thumping kicks, prolonged string pads, and buoyant basslines results in a rich, entrancing gradient that is simultaneously nostalgic and contemporary.

‘Seeing Color’ is a huge moment for me, working with Wax Motif and Clementine Douglas has created something really special. It takes you on a journey of emotions and feeling, with the first verse and incredible vocal through to the groove and energy of the drop. Making my debut on Insomniac is an absolute dream as well, a legendary label who have paved the way for dance music in America really is a special moment for me.
